The Whidbey Camano Land Trust will conduct monthly walking tours starting this month, starting Saturday in Freeland.

The Whidbey Camano Land Trust will conduct monthly walking tours starting this month.

The land trust has protected more than 6,800 acres of upland and nearshore on Whidbey and Camano islands. Some of these protected lands are accessible to the public. To encourage more public use, the nonprofit will be hosting monthly walks. A volunteer will guide visitors and answer questions during the site visits.

Upcoming walks are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Trillium Community Forest off Highway 525 north of Freeland, and 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Del Fairfax Preserve, Oak Harbor.
