Langley accepting applications for vacant council seat

The city of Langley has started accepting applications for residents who are interested in being appointed to the council seat left vacant by the resignation of Robert Gilman.

The application packet is available online at http://www.langleywa.org/city-council.html.

Those who wish to be considered for Position 5 on the council must be a Langley resident for at least a year, 18 years old and a registered voter.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12.

The city council will interview candidates for the council at its meeting on Monday, Sept. 19.

The candidate will be sworn into office at that meeting, and serve in the appointed position until Dec. 31, 2013.
