Now it’s waiting for an appraisal of the property required by Island County. Only one bid was submitted after the city sought appraisals from businesses on the MRSC consultant roster in 2012. At the time, however, Langley did not have funding for the appraisal with no guarantee the conservation futures application would be approved.

With the money secured, the city struck a deal with the Noble Creek property owner to pay half of the appraisal. A revised quote was requested from Macaulay and Associates, which came in at $6,300 for the appraisal.

In a letter to the city planner, Jeff Arango, Macaulay and Associates said the appraisal would take six to eight weeks.
