The all-Langley High School alumni and teacher picture day is coming Aug. 14.

The all-Langley High School alumni and teacher picture day is coming Aug. 14.

“The complete itinerary is a work in progress, but we have the outlines,” said Damian Greene, a member of the LHS class of 1980.

At noon on Saturday, Aug. 14, there will be a barbecue hosted by the class of 1975 at South Whidbey Community Park. At 2 p.m., there will be a tree planting to honor former cross country and track coach Carl Westling, who died one year ago. The tree will be placed at the start of the trail that bears Westling’s name.

“Then, we’ll gather for a giant, stupendous alumni photo,” Greene said.

At 6 p.m., several classes will gather for a reunion at the Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club in Langley while the barbecue continues at community park. Greene said there is some interest in a 9 p.m. dance at Bayview Hall, but that hasn’t been decided yet. Updates will follow as confirmations are received.
