Langley landslide prompts bluff safety meeting

Some top local minds in bluff safety and stability will convene in Langley later this month.

After the small bluff slide on Cascade Avenue in March, the city planned a seminar on shoreline bluffs. Terry Swanson of the University of Washington will discuss coastal geology at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 29. Following his talk, Elliott Menashe of Greenbelt Consulting will cover vegetative management of shoreline bluffs at 1:15. Langley’s city planner, Jeff Arango, will review the city’s shoreline master program at 2:15.

The conclusion of the seminar will be a beach walk and bluff tour at 2:45.
