Langley to swear in new members

Two new members of the Langley City Council will be sworn in Monday, Jan. 6. Council members Thomas Gill and Margot Jerome will take their seats with the council, along with Councilwoman Rene Neff. All three were elected unopposed.

The city will also get to meet its new Public Works director, Stan Berryman.

To kick off the year, Langley’s leaders will look at its schedule for citizen board and commission reports as well as a draft of the city’s priorities in 2014.

The council will also do a bit of housekeeping and select a mayor pro tem, a council member who acts as mayor if the mayor is unavailable, for a two-year term.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at 112 Second St., Langley in the council chambers.
