Freeland resident, Cindy Weed, walked home with $1,000 after winning the holiday cheer drawing from the Langley Chamber of Commerce.

The winning ticket is good for any purchase made at Langley Fine Fabrics & Antiques, a new member of the chamber.

The raffle aimed to have residents shop at South Whidbey businesses during the holiday season. Participating businesses gave one ticket for every $20 spent. Weed’s winning ticket was given to her after a purchase at the fabric and antique store.

More than 100 people attended the festive event on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Boy & Dog Park. The event also featured caroling and candy canes.

The prize money was donated by Whidbey Island Bank.
