Learn what you need to know about diabetes at Oak Harbor health fair

A three-hour diabetes health fair will be held in Oak Harbor later this month. November is National Diabetes Month and the Whidbey General Hospital Diabetes Health Group is sponsoring “Tools for Control,” which will feature guest speaker Trudy Snawder bringing her personal message of living with and addressing the challenges of diabetes.

November is National Diabetes Month and the Whidbey General Hospital Diabetes Health Group is sponsoring “Tools for Control,” which will feature guest speaker Trudy Snawder bringing her personal message of living with and addressing the challenges of diabetes.

The health fair is 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Oak Harbor Library meeting room, 1000 SE Regatta St.

Additional breakout sessions will be provided by the diabetes educators from Whidbey General Hospital, including “Diet Tips” and “Diabetes and Your Kidneys” as well as displays providing updates on diabetes medications, glucometers, pumps and sensors and diabetes resources.

A panel to discuss audience questions on any diabetes topic will conclude the program.

The event is free but attendees are asked to register by emailing milled@whidbeygen.org or calling 360-678-7656 ext 2661. While registering, state which breakout session you wish to attend.
