Two Langley Middle School students were recognized for their achievements in band at a South Whidbey School District board meeting in February.

Chandra Wallace (clarinet) and Joey Lane (trumpet) were named to the Washington Music Educators Association All-State Honor Band. Recordings of the band are sent to the association and students are picked from schools across the state. The achievement was special, Band Director Nick Delmedico said at the meeting on Feb. 24.

“It’s a huge honor,” Delmedico said. “Some schools don’t have any, and some just have one, so it was really phenomenal that we had two.”
