Heart circles author is guest speaker at Unity
This week will be a special time on the Unity calendar, including the service on Sunday, May 17 at Bayview Community Hall.
The Unity speaker will be Tej Steiner, author of his new book and manual, “Heart Circles, Waking up with Everyone Around Us.”
All this is relative to Steiner’s connections with Unity Church over a period of years. His talk at 10 a.m. this Sunday will be called, “How these times are helping us to awaken.”
After the service, all are invited to sit in circle with Unity friends and family. Come to participate by sharing what the church means to you, and then help explore an interconnection through growing and deepening the church community.
A potluck will be held at 11:30 a.m., preceeding the circle meeting from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. where Steiner will facilitate an all-congregation conversation.
‘Art and Spirituality’ is this Sunday at UUCWI
In 1979, New York artist Jerry Wennstrom destroyed all his art, gave away everything he owned, and began a life of unconditional trust. He has since moved to Whidbey, married Marilyn Strong, and produced a large new body of art.
At the Sunday service for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island, Wennstrom will speak about his journey and Strong will share her music.
The service starts at 10 a.m. All are welcome. Values-based children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be provided.
UUCWI gathers at 20103 Highway 525, just north of Freeland. Check www.whidbey.com/uucwi for more information.
