‘Answering Life’s Highest Calling’
Pastor Darrell Wenzek will preach Sunday at South Whidbey Community Church on the topic, “Answering Life’s Highest Calling,” based on 2 Timothy 2:22-26.
The adult forum Sunday is at 8:30 a.m. and features Dr. Tom Johnson teaching the last segment of his series on how to interpret and apply a biblical text for the purpose of leading a Bible study. This Sunday, the text is 1 Thessalonians 5. There is a question-and-answer time, so it promises to be a great learning experience for all.
Also at 8:30 a.m., Stan Walker will continue in his discussion on the Book of Acts, in the main room of the Grange. Morning worship will be at its regular time at 10 a.m.

Unity of Whidbey will give thanks
“Love cannot be far behind a grateful heart and thankful mind,” states “A Course in Miracles.”
Our greatest prayer of thanks, says the Course, is to acknowledge the gift of oneness with God and all creation.
Unity Church will celebrate Thanksgiving early by focusing on this gift. Keith Mack will speak, and Melinda and Hannah Mack will provide music.
The service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at Bayview Community Hall. All are welcome.
‘Abundance in Fearful Times’ at UUCWI
Thanksgiving is a time when we celebrate the abundance of the year, express our gratitude to the universe and to each other for the many gifts we’ve received, and prepare for a winter season of rest and renewal.
But it’s been a hard year in many ways. At the Sunday service for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Of Whidbey Island, Rev. Kit Ketcham will explore how we might find abundance in life when we are anxious and fearful about the many problems that beset us and our planet.
Values-based children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be provided.

‘Soul and Body’ at Christian Science
According to Christian Science, “soul” is a synonym for God. This means that you can never lose your soul any more than a ray of sunlight can lose its source, the sun.
Even if Earth turns from the sun, the sun is continuously beaming out that ray of light.
On Sunday, Nov. 22, the Christian Science service will discuss the topic of “Soul and Body” and how you can claim your rights today as the “reflection of Soul” (Science and Health).
Everyone is welcome at Christian Science services each week.
