Man out of control at Clinton Ferry Terminal wasn’t ‘wild,’ just ‘old’

He wasn’t trying to do it.

Island County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about mid-afternoon this past Tuesday from the Clinton Ferry Terminal.

The caller said a man in his 40s or 50s with “wild hair” was weaving between cars in a holding lane, slamming into them with his body.

Sheriff’s Det. Ed Wallace said a deputy investigated and determined that the man’s actions weren’t intentional.

“He was just old, and couldn’t walk very well,” Wallace said. “He wasn’t drunk, he was just trying to get to his car.”
