Meeting today in Freeland will focus on long-range plan for ferries

The Washington State Department of Transportation will hold a meeting in Freeland to get input from residents about ferry operations and fares in the years ahead. The meeting is 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 at Freeland Hall. Ferry officials said they hope the meeting will be an interactive exchange of ideas and information. Information gathered at the meeting will help guide the development of the long-range plan for the ferry system.

Other meetings in the area will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at 200 Battery Way in Port Townsend, and June 19 at the Fidalgo Senior Center at 1701 22nd St. in Anacortes.

In September, ferry officials will return for another round of public meetings to share initial concepts for the revised long-range plan.

Then, they will be back in November and December for hearings on the revised long-range plan.
