“Native American dancing, with its bold regalia and heartbeat drum rhythms, can be seen in Freeland on Sunday, March 26, as part of a special intergenerational service of the Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island.The Colorado based group Aztlan will perform at 4 p.m. in the old chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church. Following the service there will be a potluck supper and a chance to meet the dancers. Children are welcome.The performers are a family group, including six children ages 3-15. They are all descendants of Apache and Mexican Indian peoples, and their mission is to help non-Indians understand their culture.We express the true values of the Native American people, said leader Eaglebear.
