Police break up fight in Bayview

Two South End men were charged after a fight broke out in the parking lot of Casey’s Red Apple market in Bayview about 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Det. Ed Wallace said a verbal exchange between three men, age 16, 18 and 20, and a 56-year-old man led to the throwing of punches as a crowd gathered. Sheriff’s deputies responded and broke up the fight, Wallace said.

The older man was charged with fourth-degree assault, and the 18-year-old with disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors, Wallace said.

“Apparently the young guys were talking to the older guy, and he had enough,” Wallace said.
