Langley city staff said there have been preliminary discussions about a multi-phase proposal to build 20 new homes on 10-acre parcel on Al Anderson Road across from the cemetery.

The housing project would be built in three phases on land owned by Mira Jean Steinbrecher.

Langley Community Planner Jeff Arango said the city was expecting to hold a pre-application meeting with the landowner within the next couple of weeks.

Six single-family homes would be built in the first phase, followed by eight single-family homes in the second phase, and six cottage-housing units in the third and final phase.

A commons-area building is also envisioned as part of the development.

An open meadow and some of the forest on the land would remain undeveloped, Arango said.
