Langley City Hall announced today that a sewer system project is complete and residents no longer need to conserve water.

“Thanks for your help by reducing sewer use during the lift station pump replacements,” the city reported in a Wednesday morning news release. “The pumps are in now and operating correctly. No need for further extraordinary conservation.”

City hall requested the public limit water usage as much as possible last week due to issues with a pump station at Seawall Park. Pumps and piping had to be replaced.

While the work was underway, certain systems were taken offline and sewage had to be hauled by tanker truck to the city’s treatment facility.
