The Animal Hospital by the Sea in Langley will match all donations up to $5,000 for patients in need this holiday season. The fundraising campaign begins today and goes through the end of the year.
According to a statement from the Animal Hospital by the Sea, staff at the veterinary clinic were inspired by a few recent acts of kindness.
According to the release, community members took in and cared for an injured elderly beagle who was found running across one of South Whidbey’s main roads on a recent rainy evening. Due to the cooperation of community members and Animal Hospital by the Sea’s Facebook post, which reached over 8,600 people, the dog was reunited with her owners the next day.
On Sunday, Dec. 21, the veterinary clinic received a Secret Santa message from an anonymous donor who had dropped off funds to be used in helping a deserving patient of the clinic’s choice.
The Animal Hospital by the Sea wrote in the release that they are “so touched by this spontaneous generosity” that they have decided to match all similar “Angel Fund” donations from today through Jan. 31. Funds will either be used for an animal in need of the clinic’s choice, or may be allocated to a specific pet specified by the donor.
