Better trails and partnerships are some of the top projects for Langley’s parks and open space commission.

Commission member Marianne Edain made the group’s semi-annual report to the city council Monday night. She outlined what they accomplished and what they envision in the years to come, including a trails map detailing the public and private walks in town, getting money for projects and updating the parks element in the city’s comprehensive plan update.

Other ideas include a plant salvage program using city land to hold native vegetation removed from new development sites, creating public areas in the Noble Creek area through grants, and bluff plantings along Cascade Avenue for stability.
