Parks sponsors skateboard tour

South Whidbey Parks and Recreation will take all interested skateboarders to one of the newest and largest skate parks in the Northwest on April 5.

“Tired of running your skateboard through grocery store parking lots where no one seems to appreciate you? Do you have some free time over spring break?Then come skate away with South Whidbey Parks and Recreation as it takes all interested skateboarders to one of the newest and largest skate parks in the Northwest.On April 5, the parks district will take up to 10 skaters to Sequim’s skate park for $15 a head. The skate park bus will leave the South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District office on Maxwelton Road at 8 a.m. and will return at 7:30 p.m. Skaters are asked to bring a bag lunch or money to buy lunch in Sequim.All participants will be asked to sign a code of conduct waiver for the trip, which will be a go even if it is raining — because chances are that it will not be raining in Sequim.To sign up, stop by or call the district office at 221-5484.”
