Penn Cove Grange will be hosting the Small Agriculture Producer Caucus in early November.

“We are excited to host this group on their first visit to Whidbey Island” said Penn Cove Master Bob Cadwallader. “This is an opportunity for various small agricultural producers, and other interested parties, to learn about preserving the remaining small, sustainable farms on Whidbey Island.”

The event will feature speakers from the Small Agriculture Producers Caucus on how they are working to preserve small farm agriculture in their communities across the state.

The caucus starts at noon Saturday, Nov. 5 at the old pheasant farm at 180 Parker Road, just south of Coupeville.

Penn Cove Grange is a local affiliate of the Washington State Grange, and recently organized to support agriculture in the North and Central Whidbey communities. Deer Lagoon Grange in Langley is also helping with the event.

Rusty Hunt of the Washington State Grange Membership Team will be speaking on how the grange is working to help the small agriculture producer.
