Port of South Whidbey commissioners will meet in a special meeting Tuesday.

The port district leaders will meet for an informal workshop from 6 to 6:30 p.m. followed by a business meeting July 30. The primary purpose of meeting will be for review, discussion and direction on comprehensive scheme issues, South Whidbey Harbor permit, project, and operational policy issues, the Possession Beach boat ramp renovation planning study and other topics as time permits.

Port commissioners will hold the meeting in the port office conference room, located at 1804 Scott Road in Freeland.

Public participation is not on the agenda, nor is a public comment period offered.

The next regular meeting for the port commissioners is Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the meeting room of the South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District office at 5475 Maxwelton Road. It will include public participation.

At the port’s previous meeting July 9, commissioners were updated on the South Whidbey Harbor project, commonly called the Langley Marina. Port officials are also working on the district’s comprehensive scheme, which runs from 2013 to 2019.
