ResCare HomeCare, formerly known as Island Home Nursing, is organizing a job fair this month and is looking for businesses willing to participate.

The event is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 at Bayview Hall. Deadline for employer or business sign-up is July 8.

According to Beth Rahi, client care supervisor for ResCare HomeCare, the company has struggled with hiring new staff so decided to put on the job fair. The event is not limited to the health care industry, she said.

“We’d love to have a wide range… to attract lots of different businesses,” she said.

As of Thursday, businesses that have signed up include Whidbey Telecom, Senior Services, Sunrise Services, and at least one more. She said there’s space for at least eight more tables.

Cost is $20 for a small round table, and $25 for a large rectangle.

If the event is a success, Rahi said her company is interested in holding more job fairs.

“We’re talking about doing it more frequently, at least once a year,” she said.
