Sailor from Oak Harbor awarded Recruiter of the Year

Nicholas Clark, Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class, of Oak Harbor was awarded the Navy Special Warfare Recruiter of the Year at Navy Recruiting District San Diego.

Nicholas Clark, Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class, of Oak Harbor was awarded the Navy Special Warfare Recruiter of the Year at Navy Recruiting District San Diego.

Clark joined the Navy in 2003 during his senior year at Oak Harbor High School. He completed tours at Amphibious Construction Battalion One and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 85 before leaving active duty in 2012.

He has since returned to active duty as a recruiter under the Navy Reserve Canvasser Recruiter Program for Navy Recruiting District San Diego.

Clark recruited 14 Naval Special Warfare applicants to fill job fields in the SEAL, Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Air Rescue Swimmer and Navy Diver communities. NRD San Diego encompasses 210,000 square miles within a tri-state area that includes portions of Arizona and Nevada.
