“The Maxwelton Outdoor Classroom needs some spring cleaning.During the past year, hundreds of children have tramped through this nature study area, and now is the time fix it back up during the Maxwelton Salmon Adventure’s annual meeting and work party. The Salmon Adventure and the Outdoor Classroom need interested South Whidbey folks to help build low fences to define pathways, do maintenance on the decks, weed, mulch, rake, and trim the trails running though the area.Inside the classroom, cupboards need to be re-organized, labeled, and re-stocked. The facility’s restroom could use some TLC as well. On Saturday, April 29, starting at 9 a.m., MSA members and anyone else willing to help will start in on the work to keep one of the area’s premier salmon study sites humming along.When most of the work is done, MSA will serve lunch for all. MSA board members will then report on what the organization has accomplished during the past year and will discuss plans for the coming year. Board members will also ask for public input.
