The Langley Masonic Lodge recently awarded scholarships to juniors at South Whidbey High School as part of an annual tradition over the past 30 years.

Alec Chinnery and Bayley Gochanour received $1,000, while Kinsey Eager received $500.

The scholarships were presented by Thomas Gill, chairman of the scholarship committee and senior warden of Langley Lodge, at a banquet in their honor on June 17 at China City in Freeland.

In attendance were Chinnery and his father and Gochanour with her father and grandmother. Eager was unable to attend, though she received her award at the school the following week.

Langley Lodge makes four scholarships available to juniors every school year for use at an institute of higher learning of the recipients’ choosing.
