Applications are now being accepted for the vacancy on the South Whidbey School Board.

The position, which was formerly occupied by Damian Greene, encompasses the Clinton area. Greene announced his resignation in December, citing differences of opinions.

Applicants will be interviewed at the school board’s Feb. 23 regular meeting. If there are more than five applicants, school board members will narrow down the candidates to five. Whoever is chosen will serve the remainder of Greene’s term, which runs through the end of 2023.

Applications are available at sw.wednet.edu/school_board. Physical copies can be filled out and mailed to 5520 Maxwelton Rd., Langley, WA 98260. Digital copies can be emailed to Administrative Assistant Kristy Macarro at kmacarro@sw.wednet.edu.

A map showing the district boundary for the Clinton area is also available on the school district website.

The application deadline is Friday, Feb. 18.
