The Saratoga Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce the results of the fourth annual Young Artists Solo Competition auditions held on Saturday, Jan. 23.

Tera Applegate, violin, Gloria Ferry Brennan, violin and Seth Sobotka, French horn, have been invited to perform as soloists with the orchestra in March.

“The level of preparation and professionalism continues to grow each year at these auditions,” said Kat Fritz, producer of the event.

“It’s a pleasure to see all of these students committed to their music study with the myriad of other activities they are involved in, and it also speaks volumes to the dedication of the area music teachers and families in helping these young musicians attain their goals.”

Applegate, age 12 of Clinton, performed the first movement of the “Violin Concerto in G major” by Mozart. Ferry Brennan, age 13 of Langley, performed “Chaconne” by Vitali, and Sobottka, age 16 of Freeland, performed the first movement of the “Horn Concerto, Op. 8.” by Franz Strauss.

The concert will be held at South Whidbey High School Auditorium at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 21.
