Series on the New Consumer continues in Bayview

Transition Whidbey Potlucks with a Purpose! will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Bayview Community Hall.

“Local Responses for the New Consumer” continues with the second in a three-part series on “Facilitating the Paradigm Shift of the New Consumer.” There will be a lively discussion on topics suggested in January: What kind of quality products would we buy locally if they were available? What would a good barter and exchange system look like? How can we influence the housing market on Whidbey to help those facing foreclosures?

The potluck begins at 5:30 p.m.; bring a potluck dish to share that serves four to six or more and your own utensils and dinnerware to this evening of community connection and networking. The program begins at 6 p.m.

The suggested donation is $5 (more if you can, less if you can’t).

Potlucks with a Purpose bring the community together on the first Wednesday of each month to share good food, fun, and conversation plus excellent programs and information about sustainability.

Anyone wanting childcare (ages 2-7) from 6 to 8 p.m. must RSVP to transition@whidbey.net.
