It appears South End motorists partied responsibly during the New Year’s holiday.

Det. Ed Wallace of the Island County Sheriff’s Office said only one traffic booking was made, and it has yet to be determined if it involved driving under the influence.

One DUI was reported on Camano Island.

“We had a lot of noise and fireworks-type calls,” Wallace said, “Nothing that really stands out.”

He said sheriff’s deputies responded to an upside-down vehicle at Highway 525 and Craw Road about 3 a.m. Thursday, but no injuries were reported.
