SHERIFF’S REPORT | An upset step son, a dog named ‘Boss’ and a missing husband

The following are 9-1-1 calls to the Island County Sheriff’s Office. Thursday, July 3 8:19 p.m. — A caller reported a Whidbey Island Nourishes food vending machine at Clinton Hall was vandalized.

Thursday, July 3

8:19 p.m. — A caller reported a Whidbey Island Nourishes food vending machine at Clinton Hall was vandalized.

10:47 p.m. — A caller reported pulling his boat into Utsalady Bay on Camano Island and having a subject on land yelling through a megaphone that the boater would be fired upon if he parks there.

 

Friday, July 4

3:20 p.m. — A caller on Safari Street advised his wife called him and said she didn’t know what to do with her stepson, who is high. The stepson got upset and punched holes in a wall. She began taking pictures, he shoved her and then she backhanded him.

6:11 p.m. — A caller on Donald Avenue in Oak Harbor has pieced together information that may show his son being associated with recent mail thefts.

7:23 p.m. — A caller on Oak Harbor Road said her neighbor’s dog was growling at her. The owner lets the dog out and it growls at neighbors. It’s brown and named “boss.”

11:15 p.m. — A caller on Polnell Shores Drive believes a boat is on fire in the cove. He can see big flames on the water.

 

Saturday, July 5

10:11 a.m. — A caller from the Eagles club advised sometime overnight someone tore a piece of plywood off their window and cut their phone lines. The caller believes they tried to break in.

5:08 p.m. — A caller on Admiralty Way asked for a call from law enforcement regarding her husband, who has not returned from golfing. He is overdue by 30 minutes.

6:46 p.m. — A caller on Alter Street on Camano Island advised he just rescued a subject from the water.

11:49 p.m. — A caller on Thompson Road reported a male walking on the side of the highway with bare feet. His is now sitting in the grass and requesting a ride but the caller will not pick him up.

 

Sunday, July 6

12:29 a.m. — A caller at a Clinton restaurant reported seeing a young white male lying on the side of the roadway. His head was on the fog line, and he kept getting up and lying back down again.

6:01 p.m. — A caller on Myrtle Ave in Freeland reported a sunken boat and people in the water.

9:11 p.m. — A caller on Maple Avenue reported the use of fireworks and what she is certain are sticks of dynamite.
