Traffic on Highway 525 before 9 a.m. Tuesday was slowed by snow, slush and plow trucks.

The Clinton area has been mostly spared from this morning’s winter weather. About 8 a.m. the Clinton area was mostly cleared, with some slush on the highway near the Langley Road and Highway 525 intersection at Ken’s Korner.

The stretch of highway from Maxwelton to Bayview had snow and slush, but was otherwise clear of accidents and spinouts.

Snowfall was noticeably higher in Freeland, which led to slower driving speeds.

The first accident was just north of Classic Road in Greenbank. A newer model Honda Civic had slid into the ditch of the southbound lane.

A plow was seen heading south from Greenbank about 8:15 a.m., with a string of a dozen cars behind it.

Traffic speeds averaged 40 mph heading north, and appeared slightly slower southbound due to the snow plow.

The brunt of Tuesday’s storm appeared to be dumping snow north of Freeland.

Snowfall was also heavy in the Coupeville area just before 9 a.m., with nearly an inch falling in the area since 7 a.m.
