‘Endless Song’ at UUCWI’s next service
At the Sunday service for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island, the choir from the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship will give a musical sermon called “My Life Flows on in Endless Song” in which they explore various points of connection that music has in worship.
All are welcome. Values-based children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be provided.
The service is at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation meets at 20103 Highway 525, just north of Freeland.

‘This Too is GOOD!’ at Unity on Sunday
Rev. Christina Lee will give the talk “This Too is GOOD!” at the Unity of Whidbey service on Sunday.
Life is filled with challenges and experiences that lead us to feel bad, frustrated or discouraged. Unity Truth students have a choice: Either get stuck in the mire of humanness or choose to see the good — or is that the God — in it. Rev. Christina Lee will lead this exciting exploration.
Music will be provided by Melinda and Hannah Mack and Donna Vanderheiden will serve as platform assistant.

Nature of God series continues at SWCC
Pastor Darrell Wenzek will continue his series on the revealed nature of God, with “God is Not Silent” tomorrow morning at South Whidbey Community Church.
Sunday worship is from 10 to 11 a.m. and is preceded by an adult learning forum at 9 with Stan Walker leading a study in the Book of First Corinthians, and Rick Zapata leading a study in the Book of Genesis: the life of the Patriarchs. These are open classes and everyone is invited.

Christian Science focuses on matter
On Sunday, Sept. 18, the Christian Science service considers the subject of “matter” and how to set erroneous perceptions aside for the spiritual reality that Jesus represented in his teachings.
“Science shows that what is termed matter is but the subjective state of what is termed by the author’s mortal mind,” (“Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures”).
This statement is an outgrowth of Jesus Christ’s teachings: “For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you,” (Matthew 12:20).
The service is 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Science Church at 15910 Highway 525, just north of Bayview and across from Useless Bay Road. Everyone is welcome.
Children’s programs begin at St. Augustine’s
Children’s programs will start at St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods on Sundays, beginning Sept. 18.
All children ages 4 to 8 are welcome to join the Montessori-based Godly Play program at St. Augustine’s.
Understanding that children guide their own formation, the program seeks to instill in our young people a love for the stories of faith.
Older children ages 9 and older are welcome to join Tween Time, project-based learning to explore Christian life, or J2A, which seeks to honor the transition from childhood into adulthood within the context of the Christian community.
