South Whidbey at Home, a new non-profit program designed to help people age in place, will hold a member/volunteer sign up and informational meeting next month.

The event begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at St. Augustine Church’s Parish Hall, 5217 Honeymoon Bay Road in Freeland.

Those who attend will learn more about the program, can sign up to be a member or volunteer (or both) and to be entertained. The Rural Characters will make an appearance.

Steering committee members will also explain the particulars of the network for aging in place. For example, members over 55 can use the First Call service to get help when they need it.

South Whidbey at Home has been in the planning stages for a year, and organizers hope to be up and running in June. Email Lynn Willeford at info@SWatHome.org for details.
