The South Whidbey Parks & Rec board voted unanimously Wednesday night to spend $96,223 to purchase a 3,900-square-foot maintenance storage building from Blue Ribbon Buildings.
The Mount Vernon company was the low bidder of four bids on the project. Three other companies submitted bids: United Steel Buildings ($114,569), ATY Building Systems ($121,972), and Town and Country Buildings ($108,344).
With sales tax, the facility from Blue Ribbon Buildings was estimated to cost $104,594.
Park commissioners also voted at the special meeting to accept a bid for $16,211 for improvements to its newly acquired program and office building on Maxwelton Road.
R.L. Governor Construction will remove interior walls and repair the ceiling to allow for a larger area for fitness programs.
