Port commissioners will get a special presentation on the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal expansion project from Washington State Ferries at the port’s meeting next week.

Also on the agenda, a request from Langley for the Port of South Whidbey’s support of the city’s funicular project, and a draft negotiation proposal for a parking lot in Mukilteo that would serve Whidbey commuters.

WSF recently released its draft environmental impact statement, or EIS, on the proposal to expand the Mukilteo terminal. The environmental study looked at four alternatives: a status-quo, no-improvement option; replacing the existing terminal with an expanded terminal; relocating the terminal to the eastern portion of the Mukilteo Tank Farm; and relocating the terminal to the western part of the tank farm.

The port meeting starts with a short workshop at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, where port commissioners will review vouchers and recent correspondence. The regular meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District headquarters at 5475 Maxwelton Road.
