South Whidbey School District agrees to give disaster aid

Just in case a countywide emergency happens, there’s room for Island County to care for its citizens. The South Whidbey School Board approved 5-0 for an agreement with the Island County Health Department for use of its school facilities as a “mass distribution center for pharmaceuticals” and a “mass vaccination center.”

The South Whidbey School Board approved 5-0 for an agreement with the Island County Health Department for use of its school facilities as a “mass distribution center for pharmaceuticals” and a “mass vaccination center.”

The emergency use agreement reminded the school district to update its emergency supplies, including food and water. When they were last checked, most of its goods were expired, said District Superintendent Jo Moccia, but were being updated.
