Matthew Idso, a 2008 South Whidbey High School graduate, was recently awarded doctorate candidacy in chemical engineering at the University of California.

Idso has been a chemical engineering graduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, since he graduated from the University of Washington College of Engineering in 2012.
