State Patrol: Still no ID on motorcyclist killed near Clinton

Police have yet to identify the man killed in a motorcycle crash on South Whidbey Saturday. The motorcyclist was killed on Highway 525 Saturday afternoon when he tried to pass a line of cars near Coles Road and lost control of his 2002 BMC chopper.

The motorcyclist was killed on Highway 525 Saturday afternoon when he tried to pass a line of cars near Coles Road and lost control of his 2002 BMC chopper.

The motorcyclist was not identified by police because his next of kin had not been notified.

The State Patrol said early Monday that notification had still not yet been made.

According to the State Patrol, the man was traveling north on Highway 525 just before 2 p.m. Police said the man was speeding and passing in a no-passing zone at the time of the accident.

The man was taken to Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville after the crash, where he later died.
