SWHS students hold car wash for Haiti

Chantal White, a student at South Whidbey High School, helped to organize a car wash to raise money for victims of the Haitian earthquake.

Chantal White, a student at South Whidbey High School, helped to organize a car wash to raise money for victims of the Haitian earthquake.

White and her fellow students are part of DECA (Delta Episilon Chi Association) at the school, an organization that encourages marketing, management and entrepreneurial skills for students interested in honing their business acumen.

The car wash was held at the Chase Bank parking lot in Freeland, and raised $728.21 for the cause. The money was donated to the Red Cross Haiti Relief fund.

The students would like to thank all the customers for their generous donations.

DECA students who participated in the fundraising event are Andy Bennett, Guy O’Connor, Brooke Hennessy, Hayley Hanna, Rain Ellis, Avery Grant, Dylan Barnett, Jasmyne Streitler and White, along with South Whidbey High School teacher Sharyl Harless.
