Nearly 5,500 people across the 2nd District dialed in during Congressman Rick Larsen’s telephone town hall Wednesday night, according to officials in the U.S. Representative’s office.

Callers wanted to talk to the 2nd District Democrat about the economy, jobs, the federal budget and healthcare.

Larsen hosted the call from his office in Washington, D.C.

“I want to thank everyone who took time out of their evening to join tonight’s call,” Larsen said afterward. “It was a great chance for me to have a conversation with folks back home about important local and national issues.”

“It’s clear from listening to folks in Northwest Washington that people are still very concerned about the state of the economy and what Congress is doing to help get people back to work,” Larsen added. “It was great to have the opportunity to talk with constituents about the work I am doing to fuel private sector job growth and economic growth in the Pacific Northwest.”

The 2nd District includes Island, Snohomish, Skagit, San Juan and Whatcom counties, and parts of Snohomish and King counties.
