The Uniquely Whidbey Trade Fair and Home Show, scheduled for Oct. 11 and 12, could be at its biggest ever in its 12-year history this year.
On both days, the show will take place at the Coupeville middle and high school gyms, and in the school’s Performing Arts Center. All venues are within walking distance of one another.
“It’s our premier Whidbey Island products fair for the year,” said Sharon Hart, director of the Economic Development Council, a sponsor of the show.
This year, the fair will feature over 120 vendors selling products or services from every sector of the economy. Included will be 10 vendors who will be part of a food court area.
“People are always surprised by how many diverse opportunities they are,” Hart said. “We feel the show is very successful for the vendors.”
Area businesses also feel the show is too successful not to attend.
“We’ve done it every year,” said Carolyn Borden, co-owner of Coupeville-based A Clean Carpet Co. “It’s a good way to stay in touch with existing customers.”
Borden said while it it nice to see and meet new customers, it also gives them a chance to feature their new services.
Paul Howard, a co-owner of The Casual Gourmet, said he and his wife and business partner, Patti, will return to the show for a second year.
“This is where we meet a lot of people,” said Howard.
The EDC partners will the Port of South Whidbey and the Port of Coupeville to do the show every year.
