The popular Trash & Treasure sale sponsored by St. Augustine’s In-the-Woods Episcopal Church was successful again this year, netting $6,000 to distribute to various community organizations.

The Episcopal Women’s Group distributed the profits as follows: Oasis for Animals, $1,000; Meals on Wheels, $1,000; Ryan’s House for Youth, $1,000; Time Together, $1,000; Mother Mentors, $1,000; and Teen Pilgrimage to England, $1,000.

Leaders gathered for a presentation of the checks. Laura Colton, an organizer for the Women’s Group, was delighted by the results of the sale. “This I believe is indicative of good old-fashioned community, which is why I love living on Whidbey Island,” she said.
