The Watershed Stewards had a productive first work party on March 26 at the Clinton Creek Preserve. The original sign for the property was found in the creek ravine and re-installed along Brighton Beach Road. Volunteers also saved trees choked with ivy, and collected five large bags of trash and a baby stroller.

“The ravine is very beautiful,” Whidbey Watershed Stewards manager Robin Clark said.

“But it needs help with an infestation of ivy that just this winter has claimed five trees. We’ll do more work there for sure,” she added.
