Ghosts and goblins, witches, Frankenstein’s monster and vampires will all be on hand to guide Halloween carousers through a maze of haunts at Whidbey Children’s Theater.

WCT is staging their annual Haunted House in Langley at the Porter Building, 222 Anthes Ave. from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27, 28 and 31.

There will also be a special “lights up” walk-through for the younger group from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29.

The mission of the event is to provide a spooky, fun and theatrical experience for the community. It is also a fundraiser for the non-profit theater company.

The interactive maze adventure has been created by a team of students and parents.

It features theme rooms like the all white “ghost room,” the “jungle graveyard” and the “electric room.” There will be plenty of visual effects with a humourous touch but no gore.

“We’ll do scary things, but not too scary,” explained Katie Ewing, one of the Haunted House creators.

Groups can request the “scary” version or the more gentle “Bambi” version for the younger set.

Students will provide an on-going improvisation at the end of the maze along with a puppet show by puppeteer Dawn Collins.

Students will guide groups through the adventure and will also be giving out treats, of course.

Hot drinks, cookies and other items will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $5 and are available at the door. For more information contact WCT at 221-8707.
