Island County is accepting applicants of people interested in filling a position on the Noxious Weed Control Board.

The Noxious Weed Control Board consists of five voting members, and a board member is needed from District IV, the area from Freeland south to the end of Whidbey Island.

Board members attend quarterly meetings, regulate the duties and direction of the weed control coordinator’s position and make decisions regarding noxious weed control efforts in Island County.

Candidates for the post should make a written application that includes the signature of at least 10 registered voters residing in the section supporting the nomination. Application materials may be obtained by contacting Thane Tupper at 360-678-7992 or by email at thane.tupper@wsu.edu.
