To complete a repair and maintenance project at the Mukilteo ferry dock that began in early February, Washington State Ferries is closing the Mukilteo Terminal this weekend, detouring traffic from Clinton to Edmonds.

After 2 a.m. today, all traffic from the Clinton dock will take a 50-minute crossing between Clinton and Edmonds.

Clinton-to-Mukilteo service will resume on Monday with the 4:40 a.m. sailing from Clinton.

The same schedule will be repeated next weekend, March 8-9, when the Mukilteo terminal is closed to complete the project.

During the closure this weekend, a contractor will be lifting concrete caps onto the new piles that were driven in February. The March 8-9 closure will give the contractor time to put more new equipment in place used to move the dock’s ramp up and down.

The project will be completed March 9.

Ferry riders can expect increased traffic at Edmonds as Washington State Patrol officers separate Clinton-bound traffic from Kingston-bound traffic.

The closure schedule is available online at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ ferries, at the Mukilteo, Clinton and Edmonds ferry terminals or by calling toll-free 888-808-7977.
