Two experts will talk about the Rhinoceros Auklet and the Tufted Puffin with the Whidbey Audubon Society this week.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Whidbey Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 20103 Highway 525.
Scott Pearson and Peter Hodum assessed the status and trends of these puffins in Washington since 2004. Pearson is a senior research scientist at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Hodum is an assistant professor at the University of Puget Sound.
The presentation is a collaboration with the Smith and Minor Island Citizen Committee, a program of Whidbey Watershed Stewards and Whidbey Audubon Society.
