Four wineries and a distillery will open their tasting rooms for their annual Savor Spring Wine & Food Tour this weekend.

On May 10 and 11 Comforts of Whidbey, Spoiled Dog Winery, Whidbey Island Distillery, Blooms Winery Taste for Wine and Art and Holmes Harbor Cellars will host people during Mother’s Day weekend.

Each winery also features samples from Whidbey restaurants including Gordon’s on Blueberry Hill, Roaming Radish, JW Desserts, Tres Gringos and Captain Whidbey Inn & Restaurant of Penn Cove.

This year the association added distilleries to the group and the tour includes Whidbey Island Distillery for the first time.

Virginia Bloom of Blooms Winery said the event helps people pair food with the best wine.

“We love this event. It’s really a fun one because a lot of people have a hard time figuring out what goes with what,” she said.

The event also showcases the different offerings from restaurants as well. Bloom hopes locals will also get in the spirit by taking their guests on the tour for the holiday weekend.

“It’s fun to see what the foodies come up with for the wines,” she said.

The event also includes tours of vineyards and farms. Many of the wineries will have newly released drinks for spring.

Bloom suggested for visitors to take their time at each site, pointing out there are two days to visit five locations. Each winery will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 that day and are available at tasting rooms or online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/565371
