Whidbey winter crabbing ends Dec. 31

Recreational crabbing ends Wednesday, Dec. 31 in Washington. The winter season was extended after Labor Day weekend because sport crab limits were not reached through the summer. Catch reports from the winter are due Feb. 1, even if no crab were caught.

Failing to submit the catch report will result in a $10 fine when purchasing a 2015 crab license.

Reports may be submitted online starting Jan. 1 at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/puget_sound_crab_catch.html.
